About Shady Blinds

We’re based in Weddington, Nuneaton (CV10). We cover a wide area across Warwickshire and beyond, including Coventry, Hinckley, Tamworth, Bedworth, Rugby, Atherstone, Lutterworth, and surrounding villages. If you’re not sure whether we cover your area, just give us a call — if it’s within a reasonable distance, we’ll come to you.

We’re available Monday to Friday, 10am–5pm. Outside of these hours you can leave us a WhatsApp message or submit a booking request online and we’ll get back to you the next working day.

We don’t have a traditional showroom — we bring the showroom to you. When you book a free home visit, we arrive with a full set of samples covering all our materials, colours, and styles. Seeing products in your own home in your own light is actually far more useful than visiting a showroom, and it costs you nothing.

The Home Visit & Fitting Process

One of our specialists will come to your home with samples and a measuring tape. We’ll look at your windows together, discuss what you’re hoping to achieve, and show you the relevant options from our range. We’ll take precise measurements and give you a fixed, itemised quote before we leave. The whole visit usually takes 30–60 minutes depending on how many windows you want to cover. There’s no obligation to go ahead.

Most installations take 1–3 hours depending on the number of windows and type of product. Shutters generally take longer than blinds due to the frame fitting involved. We’ll give you a realistic time estimate when we book the fitting appointment.

Just clear the window ledges and move any furniture that’s close to the windows so our team has space to work. Maybe dont have the heating on full! We’ll take care of everything else, including cleaning up after ourselves.

Our own team — always. We don’t use subcontractors. The same people who measured your windows will usually be the ones fitting your order.

Products & Materials

Wood shutters offer the warmest, most traditional look and are a natural insulator — ideal for living rooms and bedrooms. Polymer shutters look almost identical to wood but are fully waterproof, making them the better choice for bathrooms, kitchens, and humid rooms. Our top polymer range carries a 30-year material warranty. Aluminium shutters offer a more contemporary look and added security — particularly suitable for ground floor windows. We’re happy to advise on the best option for your specific situation during your free home visit.

Yes — this is one of our specialities. We carry several systems specifically designed for bi-fold and patio doors, including VS2 Comfort Slide blinds that don’t interfere with the door mechanism, CLIC adhesive-fit blinds, perfect fit systems, and bi-fold shutters. We’ll recommend the right system for your doors during the home visit.

Yes. We make all our products to measure, so unusual window sizes are no problem at all. We also offer shaped blinds and shutters for triangular, circular, arched, and angled windows — a common feature in older properties. If you’ve been told your window is too awkward to cover, come and speak to us.

Yes — most of our range can be motorised. We offer rechargeable motor systems that can be controlled by remote, smartphone app, or voice via Alexa, Google Home, or Apple HomeKit. Motorisation is particularly popular for roof lanterns, large windows, and hard-to-reach skylights.

Yes. We carry a range of moisture-resistant and waterproof fabrics specifically designed for kitchens and bathrooms. Faux wood Venetians, polymer shutters, and certain roller blind fabrics are all suitable for high-humidity environments.

We offer shutter louvres in 47mm, 63mm, 76mm, 89mm, and 114mm. Larger louvres tend to suit bigger windows and more contemporary interiors; smaller louvres work well in traditional or period properties. We’ll show you examples of each size during your home visit so you can see the effect before you decide.

Lead Times & Delivery

Lead times vary by product. Most blinds are 2–4 weeks from order. Standard shutters are typically 4–6 weeks. Our Express Polymer shutter range is available in as little as 2 weeks. We’ll confirm an accurate lead time at the point of order, and we’ll contact you as soon as your products are ready to book the fitting date.

We offer temporary paper blinds that can be ordered from our online shop and delivered in days — ideal if you’ve just moved in or need cover while you wait for your made-to-measure order. If you order shutters from us, we also include free temporary blinds to use while your shutters are being made.

Cost & Finance

Prices vary significantly depending on the product type, window size, material, and any extras like motorisation. Blinds generally start from around £100–£150 per window for a made-to-measure fitted roller blind. Shutters are a larger investment — typically starting from £300–£500 per window depending on size and material. The best way to get an accurate price is to book a free home visit, where we’ll give you a fixed, itemised quote with no obligation to proceed.

Yes. We offer flexible finance options including PayPal Credit. Finance can make a significant shutter or awning purchase much more manageable — ask us for details when you get your quote, or visit our finance page for more information.

We ask for a deposit when you place your order, with the balance due on the day of installation. We’ll explain the payment terms clearly when you receive your quote.

Child Safety

Child safety is something we take seriously. Looped or corded blinds pose a strangulation risk to young children, and all our products are available with safe cordless, wand, or motorised operation. We will always advise on the safest option for your home during the free home visit, particularly if you have young children or are expecting. See our child safety page for more detail.

Yes. Shutters are inherently one of the safest window coverings available — there are no cords or chains involved. The louvres are adjusted by hand or via a central tilt rod, making them an excellent choice for families with young children.

Aftercare & Warranties

Warranties vary by product and manufacturer. As a guide: wood shutters carry a 5-year paint and 15-year structural warranty; our top polymer shutters carry a 5-year paint, 15-year structural, and 30-year material warranty; aluminium shutters carry up to a 10-year warranty; perfect fit shutters carry a 10-year warranty. Blind warranties vary by product — we’ll confirm the specific warranty at the point of purchase.

YMost fabric blinds can be wiped down with a lightly damp cloth. Venetian blinds can be dusted with a duster or microfibre cloth, or wiped slat by slat with a damp cloth. Roman blinds can usually be spot-cleaned. Always check the care label on your specific fabric. We’ll give you care guidance when we fit your blinds.

Shutters are one of the easiest window coverings to clean — a quick wipe with a damp cloth is all that’s needed for most installations. Polymer shutters are fully waterproof so can be cleaned more thoroughly without concern. This is one of the main reasons many customers switch from fabric blinds to shutters over time.

Just call us. We stand behind everything we fit and will always come back to address any issue that arises within the warranty period. We’re a local business — we’re not difficult to reach and we’re not going anywhere.
